Terms of Service

By accessing or using Uplocal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our service. Uplocal is operated by HiddenLab, a company registered in France (SIRET: 980 715 809 00011).

Uplocal is a browser based AI image upscaling service. The actual image processing happens entirely within your web browser using WebAssembly and TensorFlow.js technology. We offer three subscription tiers: Free, Pro, and Studio. Each tier provides different limits on daily upscales, maximum scale factor, file size, batch processing, and additional features.

To use our paid features and to track your usage history, you must create an account. We use Google OAuth for authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activities that occur under your Uplocal account. You must provide accurate information and must be at least 16 years old to use our service.

Uplocal offers the following subscription plans:

• Free: 1 upscale per day at 2x maximum, 5MB file size limit, PNG and JPEG output.
• Pro ($9 per month or $79 per year): unlimited upscales, up to 4x scale, 10MB file limit, all output formats, batch processing up to 10 images.
• Studio ($24 per month or $199 per year): unlimited upscales, up to 8x scale, 10MB file limit, batch processing up to 50 images, custom output dimensions, API access, and commercial license.

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes. We may update pricing at any time but existing subscribers will keep their current pricing for the duration of their billing cycle.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us. After cancellation, you will retain access to your paid features until the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, but we do offer a 7 day money back guarantee for new subscribers if you are not satisfied with the service.

You retain all rights to the images you upload and the upscaled outputs we produce. We claim no ownership of your content. The Uplocal service, including its design, code, branding, and AI models integration, is the intellectual property of HiddenLab and is protected by international copyright law. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works of our service without our written permission.

You agree not to use Uplocal for any of the following: processing illegal content including copyrighted material you do not own, child sexual abuse material, or content that violates any applicable law; reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract our source code or AI models; using automated tools to abuse our service or circumvent usage limits; sharing your account credentials with others; or any activity that could harm our service or its users.

Your privacy is fundamental to our service. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data. The most important point is that your images are processed entirely in your browser and never reach our servers.

Uplocal is provided as is without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee specific quality results from our AI upscaling, as quality depends on your input image and your device hardware. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HiddenLab and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of France. Any dispute arising from your use of Uplocal shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of France. EU consumers may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform.
